Academic Programs

Commerce is a section of the Department of Social Science and Commerce. It has a staff strength of four (4) fulltime and 2 part time positions. It offers the following strands: (i) Accounting, (ii) Business Management, (iii) Economics and (iv) Commerce Teaching Curriculum. The majority of students enrolled within are in the four (4) four year pre service degree program. The other programs are; Bachelor of Education - In service (both primary and secondary), and the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Commerce).

Programs offered by the Commerce Section are very demanding and competition among students is high. For example; in 2004 the total enrolment was 456. This year (2005) it recorded a total of 668 students. This is an increase of 212 students enrolled in the section.
