Technical Vocational Education Section offers  general programs for TVET educators training in public and private sectors and customized programs for specific organizations.

General Programs

Diploma in Business Education and Training

This program focuses training current educators and potential beginning educators and trainers in business studies area, which consists of accounting, management, office administration, retail, marketing , computing, economics and commerce, finance, financial planning, tourism and hospitality management, counseling, consulting, Auditing and taxation, banking and credit management, secretarial and clerical studies etc.  The program provides comforts to become registered teachers, instructors and trainers acquiring NQF competency for Instructor and trainer.

Diploma in Technical Vocational Education and Training

This program focuses on training current educators and potential educators and trainers in technical area, which consists of science and technology, maintenance and fitting machining, carpentry construction, metal fabrication and welding, computer engineering, surveying and leveling, electrical and electronics, motor vehicle mechanics, plumbing civil engineering, aircraft maintenance, industrial engineering and project management etc.  The program provides comforts to become registered teachers, instructors, trainers acquiring NQF competency for Instructor and trainer.

Bachelor of Technical Vocational Education and Training (B.TVET)

This program admits graduates of Diploma programs upgrade their qualifications into degree level adding more engineering knowledge and skills.  The program provides comforts to become master trainers acquiring NQF Competency for Master Trainer.  Students in B.TVET program will attach to industry  with a view to gaining and understanding transferable skills to their own teaching and training environment.

Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Vocational Education and Training (PGD in TVET)

Graduates from other recognized universities are admitted to this program as TVET teachers and trainers.

Entry Requirements.

The following entry requirements are the minimum that applicants for the two programs must possess. Candidates with higher qualifications in content knowledge will be given priority in the selection process.

• Diploma or Certificate in Business Studies in any strand given above from a recognised educational institution (University, Business College, Technical College, or private organisation registered with the National Training Council and accredited by the Office of Higher Education are institutions formally recognised inPNG.
• PETT/TTC qualifications in Secretarial, Clerical or Business Studies with minimum four years teaching or industry  experience.
• Permanent employees, who are engaged in teaching/training in private, public or NGO  organisations with corporate sponsorship.
