His research dissertation consists of a portfolio of reports on four research projects organized around a research focus on the education of children and young people with vision impairment (VI) in Papua New Guinea. Dr. Aiwa also obtains Masters in Special Education from the University of Sydney and Diploma in Vision Impairment from University of Birmingham, UK. Prior to joining the University of Goroka, Dr. Aiwa was a Senior Inspector with National Department of Education for 10 years. Dr. Aiwa has special interest in the education of children with diverse needs particularly vision impairment and has spent over 32 years working and promoting Education for All- Vision Impairment (EFA-VI).
