Biography

Samuel P. Juniath completed his undergraduate and post graduate studies (honours) at the University of Goroka. He now teaches courses in the Division of Educational Leadership and Management, Social Development and Gender Studies in the School of Education at the University of Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. During his post graduate studies (B.Ed. Hons) he conducted his research on the relationship between the performances of newly promoted senior teachers of selected primary schools in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville and the Bougainville Provincial Division of Education Induction Program (BPDoEIP). The study aimed at investigating how effective the BPDoEIP prepared newly promoted senior teachers for their new roles.

Research Interest/Background
Samuel P. Juniath presented a paper in the 2013 National Education Conference based on his empirical findings of the research he conducted on Bougainville. The paper was titled “The Performance of Newly Promoted Primary School Senior Teachers: An Impact of the Provincial Teacher Induction Program in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.” He is keen in pursuing further research into issues relating to leadership and management in schools because of his vast experiences as a former primary school classroom teacher, senior teacher head teacher and Standards Officer with the National Department of Education.
