Biography

Mr. Ambelye began his teaching career as a part-time tutor in Mathematics at the PNG University of Technology in February 2001 after graduating with a BSc (Math/Phy) from the University of PNG. He was appointed to a permanent teaching position a of couple years later and continued to teach undergraduate Mathematics at PNG Unitech until 2008.

The following year he studied for his Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. After graduating with a MSc degree he taught for a while at PNG Unitech and then moved to Port Moresby

Between March 2011 and February 2012, he worked with the Bank South Pacific Finance Division in Port Moresby and at the same time was a part time lecturer in Calculus & Ordinary Differential Equations at the University of PNG.

Mr. Ambelye decided to head to the Madang province to take up a Lecturer position in Applied Mathematics at the Divine Word University in February 2013.

His interest to serve as many local Universities as possible saw him accept a lecturer position at the University of Goroka in February 2014. He is currently servicing UOG as the Acting Head of the Division of Mathematics, Computing & Ethno-mathematics

Research Interest/Background

Applied Mathematics, especially modeling using Differential Equations.
